Prof. Christian Doonan

Christian Doonan was born in Melbourne, Australia and received undergraduate and PhD degrees from the University of Melbourne. Christian was introduced to MOFs in the laboratory of Prof. Omar Yaghi at UCLA as a post doctoral fellow.

Subsequent to this he moved to the University of Adelaide where he is now Professor and Director of the Centre for Advanced Nanomaterials. Christian was previously an Australian Research Council Future Fellow and was selected as an emerging leader as part of the Japan–Australia Emerging Leaders Research Program 2013 and was awarded a JSPS visiting fellowship in 2014.

Christian is currently a South Australian State Government Future Making Industry Fellow at the Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Resources, and Research Director of the Scaling Green Hydrogen CRC bid which aims to become the largest single initiative in the country focused on supporting the vital scaling up of the emerging Australian green hydrogen sector.

Additionally, he is a frequent visitor to the McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley.
