Labs and Facilities

The research group occupies a number of labs throughout the Johnson and Badger Buildings of the University of Adelaide's North Terrace Campus.  We have state-of-the-art labs for material synthesis and structure characterisation (by single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction - the Bragg Crystallography Facility) that complement the synthetic chemistry facilities.  Other key facilities are available in the School of Physical Sciences or within the Faculty of Sciences.

One focus of our research is the synthesis of porous materials as scaffolds for heterogenous catalysts, and storage and selective separations of gases, e.g. carbon dioxide/nitrogen, carbon dioxide/methane.  We have access to a suite of adsorption instruments including two Micromeritics ASAP 2020s and a 3-Flex adsorption analyser.  We have a newly built, customised catalysis testing rig.
